Telangana: Naxalite Madvi Hidma operating in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh surrendered before Pradhyuman Kumar Singh and Vishnu Charan Munakia, officers of the CRPF 151 (Kaliveru) in Mulugu district of Telangana on Wednesday.
Sources report, Himda also handed over his rifle to the cops. As per the information extracted by the cops, Madvi Hikma is a native of Chhattisgarh’s Koyya district and has been operating for CPI(M) since he was 16-year-old and is believed to be the mastermind of several attacks on security forces.
Along with the CRPF battalion and Mulugu Police, OSD Shobhan Kumar, Ethuranagaram ASP Ashok Kumar, CRPF’s Assistant Commandant Amit Kumar, Ethuranagaram CI Kiran Kumar and SI Ramesh were also present while the former Naxal surrendered to join the mainstream.
Meanwhile, Mulugu Superintendent of Police SSG Patil has appealed to other members of the Maoist party to surrender and join the mainstream.
The lookout for senior Madvi Hidma aged 48, resident of Purati Village of Jagargunda police station area of Sukma district is still in process. It is reported that nearly 20 Jawans were killed in an encounter with Hidma at Tekalgudam under Tarrem police station areas of Bijapur district in April last year. According to the police, Hidma is the mastermind of the Burkapal and Menpa attacks, where over 76 soldiers were killed.
