Chhattisgarh: District Balod reported a major fraud case today. Satish Upadhyay, from Dallirajhara, was caught with a huge sum of Rs 26 lakhs 98 thousand 500 rupees. Satish is accused of collecting this huge amount from 52 unemployed persons in the villages of Dodilohara and Balod area.
The first accused, Bishram Singh Nishad lived in Kotera village in Dodilohara block has known Satish for 20 years.
He reveals a conversation of Satish and himself dating back to 2019, where the latter had asked him to employ 4-5 boys or girls to provide government jobs in PWD and PHE and forest department.
Believing him, Bishram invested Rs 2,01,500 in the name of his daughter Daneshwari, son Indresh Kumar, Grand-son Prem Lal and neighbours Inderpal Kortia, and Akhilesh Kortia. Satish also took a snap of certain documents like the school certificate, caste certificate, residence certificate, Aadhaar card, bank passbook, two passport sizes of the enrolees.
Few days later it is reported that Satish demanded the requirement of 15 more individuals. Candidates from neighbouring villages like Kotera, Sorli, Khertha, Sambalpur also enrolled in his fraud selection.
N Kumar Nishad, Hemraj Kortia, Shiveshwar Nishad, Lomesh Kumar Kortia, Toman Lal Bhuarya, Tukeshwar Lal Village Sorli resident Mansingh, Rakesh Gram Khertha resident, Kamlesh, Uday, Shilendra village Koba resident, Kejuram, Kedar Ram, Sambalpur resident Vikas Patel, bought Rs 40,300 which summed up to a total of Rs 6,04,500.
Similarly, the accused defrauded 26 lakh 98 thousand 500 rupees from a total of 52 unemployed persons.
