Lormi. The Lormi Nagar Palika election of Mungeli district is being considered a high profile seat. In fact, the state’s Deputy CM and Urban Bodies Minister Arun Saw is also an MLA from Lormi assembly. Due to this, this election is also being considered important. BJP has nominated two-time councilor Sujit Verma for the post of president from the Lormi Nagar Palika seat of the district. On the other hand, Congress has fielded former Nagar Panchayat President Anil Das.
After the announcement of the candidate, the election activities have intensified in Lormi Nagar Palika area. The president candidates along with the supporters of both the parties are doing public relations. Tomorrow, in the presence of Deputy CM and Urban Administration Minister Arun Sao, all the councilor candidates including the Municipal President of Bharatiya Janata Party will file their nominations.
BJP has fielded two-time councillor Sujit Verma as its candidate. Congress has also fielded former Lormi Nagar Panchayat president Anil Das for the post of municipal president. It is being said that the Congress party has fielded Anil Das, who belongs to the royal family, as its candidate.
BJP and Congress have their own claims

BJP’s president candidate Sujit Verma has claimed his victory. Lormi Mandal President Sushil Yadav has also said that he will file nomination tomorrow in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw. He has claimed to win the post of president along with all 18 councilor candidates of Bharatiya Janata Party. Congress candidate Anil Das also said that 5 years ago the people of Lormi gave him the opportunity to serve as the president in the Nagar Panchayat. This time also the people of Lormi will give him the opportunity to serve by blessing him as the Nagar Palika President.
