Raipur: The police of the capital city of Raipur placed Jitendar Pal Singh in custody at an operation called Operation Cleanliness for an illegal supply of English alcohol produced in Punjab state. The accused had the crates of liquor stocked in a semi household of Amaleshwar , where he stays in Durg district. In this sense, the total amount of English alcohol discovered is 32 crates, in addition to the confiscation of the Hyundai Accent vehicle with registration number CG/05/4757 during the liquor transportation operation.
The total value of the seized contraband is approximately Rs. 14,50,000. A case under section 357/24, clauses 34(2) and 59(k) of the Excise Act has been registered against the accused at Khmatarai police station.
The arrest was made as part of the ongoing campaign by Raipur police to crack down on the illegal liquor trade and ensure public safety. The accused’s involvement in smuggling liquor from Punjab to Chhattisgarh reflects the widespread problem of alcohol trafficking in the region.
