Rajim: Krishankumar Saini, resident of Rajim Nawapara embarked on a walk with a belief to bring prosperity to the state.
Beating the previous champion Anjali, Saini covered 100km in 17 hours and 50 minutes on Monday morning. Saini began his walk from Mahamya temple on Sunday 6 am. Targetting to cover a distance of 140 km in 24 hours, Saini classifies his walk under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Saini would achieve his target of 140 km as he reaches Mata Bamlai of Dongargarh.
The walk on Sunday was flagged off by Rajim MLA Amitesh Shukla. State Kisan Congress leaders Neeraj Thakur, Ashok Fadnavis Ajatshatru Singh Baghel and others congratulated Saini for the feat.
Previously, the record was scripted by Anjali who had covered 100.16 km on 18 hours and 25mins.
