Kanker: The convoy of BJP MP Bhojraj Nag in Kanker town of Chhattisgarh’s Kanker deceased a third person in a tragic accident. Reportedly, critically injured in the crash was a young man who died after treatment at the district hospital. One body has since been recovered from the village, so that makes three deaths in Pondgaon village, resulting in anger and grief among locals.
The accident was a Monday night accident when MP Bhojraj Nag was travelling from Bhanupratappur to Antagarh. Later in the MP’s convoy, a follow-up vehicle hit a motorcycle, causing a fatal crash in the Antagarh police station area near Pondgaon village. Two people were on the spot, they died while two others received critical injuries.
The police were immediately directed to the accident spot, and the injured were sent to Antagarh Hospital for emergency treatment after getting the news. After the incident, MP Bhojraj Nag also visited the hospital. A second person died in treatment after the incident. The remaining two critically injured persons were airlifted to the district hospital for further medical treatment. However, one more of the injured youth succumbed to his injuries, pushing the death figure to three.
They have been identified as being deceased as Girdhari Samrath, Kuleshwar Samrath, and Tameshwar Dehari. The outrage has not been limited to the villagers who are urging for justice for the victims. There is pressure on the local administration to investigate thoroughly the accident and carry out necessary measures.
Therefore, the tragic loss of lives has rocked the community, sending out shockwaves on road safety and the conduct of high-profile convoys. Additional steps are expected from the authorities to calm down the growing unrest of the villagers.
