Jharkhand Naxal Encounter: Security forces have achieved great success in the police-Naxalite encounter in Jharkhand, the neighboring state of Chhattisgarh. In an encounter that took place this morning in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand, security forces killed Naxal Sahdeo Soren alias Parvesh, who had a bounty of Rs 1 crore on his head. Sahdeo Soren was a member of the Central Committee. Along with this, the police have also killed top 3 Naxalites in the encounter. A bounty of Rs 25 lakh and Rs 10 lakh was declared on two other Naxalites.

Jharkhand Police said based on intelligence inputs, a central committee member of CPI (Maoist) Sahdev Soren and two other Naxalites were killed in an encounter with a joint team of Cobra Battalion, Giridih and Hazaribagh police in Karandi village of Tatijharia police station in Hazaribagh district this morning. Sahdev Soren had a reward of Rs 1 crore on his head.

The other two Naxalite commanders killed include Bihar-Jharkhand Special Area Committee member Raghunath Hembram alias Chanchal and Zonal Committee member Birsen Ganjhu alias Ramkhelavan. Raghunath Hembram had a reward of Rs 25 lakh on his head, while Birsen Ganjhu was a Naxal with a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head. According to information, after the encounter, security forces also recovered 3 AK-47 rifles from the spot.

According to sources, this encounter took place during a search operation being conducted by a joint team of COBRA and Giridih-Hazaribagh police. The security forces acted on the secret information about the presence of Sahdev Soren’s squad in the forest. All three notorious Naxalites were killed in retaliatory fire. The search operation is still going on in Hazaribagh and surrounding areas. Police and security forces are ensuring that there is no scope for any other Naxalite to escape.

It is noteworthy that on September 11, security forces killed 10 Naxalites in an encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Gariaband district. Among the killed Naxalites was Modem Balkrishna alias Bhaskar, a senior leader of the banned CPI (Maoist) and Central Committee Member (CCM) with a bounty of Rs 1 crore on his head.

On this success of the security forces, Union Home Minister Shah had written on ‘X’, “Our security forces have achieved another major achievement against the Naxalites today. In Chhattisgarh, CRPF’s Cobra Commando, Chhattisgarh Police and DRG have carried out a joint operation and killed 10 notorious Naxalites including CCM Modem Balkrishna alias Manoj, who had a bounty of Rs 1 crore on his head. The remaining Naxalites should also surrender in time. Complete destruction of red terror is certain before the upcoming 31st March.
