Raipur: The Income Tax Department’s action is going on in Chhattisgarh for the last three days. The IT team raided more than 45 locations across the state on Wednesday morning, including IT raids going on at the locations of former minister Amarjeet Bhagat, big businessmen, and builders of the state. The IT team has seized crores of rupees in cash, jewelry and important documents.
Raids by the Income Tax Department have been going on for the last 48 hours in many districts of the state including Raipur, Durg, Bhilai, and Raigarh. In which documents are being searched at 47 locations including Chauhan Builders, Pradeep Jain, Vijay Jain, Sandeep Jain, Pappu Bansal, and Chandrabhan Sherwani. In these raids, senior officers of the Income Tax Department have reached Raipur from Bhopal. Action is going on at the residence of former Food Minister Amarjeet Bhagat in MLA Colony, Raipur along with the personal assistant of the former Food Minister in Rajpur, Balrampur. It is being told that the Income Tax Department team has seized more than Rs 2 crore in cash, jewelry and important documents in the raid. At present the action is going on.
In the early hours of January 31, the Income Tax Department conducted raids in many districts of the state including Raipur, Durg, Bhilai, Raigarh. The IT team has also reached the house and office of former minister Amarjeet Bhagat in Ambikapur and the house and office in Raipur MLA Colony. At the same time, raids were conducted at the house of businessman Amar Hora in Law Vista Society, including Chandrabhan Sherwani in Rajiv Nagar, Raipur, the premises of Sandeep Jain in Telibandha and the house and office of Chauhan Group in Durg-Bhilai.
The IT team also raided builder Ajay Chauhan’s office in Ramnagar and Chauhan Estate near Maurya Talkies. The IT team also reached the premises of Hanumant Rice Industries located at Durg Green Chowk. Also, the IT team raided the house of SK Kejriwal, resident of house number 32/8, Panchavati Society, Bhilai.
Earlier on January 31, the Income Tax Department team has conducted raids in different parts of the state early today. The IT team has also reached the house and office of former minister Amarjeet Bhagat in Ambikapur and the house and office in Raipur MLA Colony. Teams from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have reached the residence of former minister Bhagat. About 15 officers reached Amarjeet’s residence at 7 in the morning. At the same time, the IT team has raided the house of businessman Amar Hora in Law Vista Society along with Chandrabhan Sherwani in Rajiv Nagar, Raipur. A raid has also been conducted on Sandeep Jain’s premises in Telibandha. Raid has been conducted in the house and office of Chauhan Group in Durg-Bhilai.
