RAIPUR: CG Governor Anusiya Uikey returned to Raipur concluding her three-day visit to New Delhi on Wednesday. Interacting with the reporters at the Swami Vivekananda Airport informed that the reservation bill was tweaked based on the opinions of the legal advisor and has been forwarded to the CG Govt for further consideration. Following this, she will consider the approval.
She also mentioned that she has invited President Draupadi Murmu and Home Minister to Raipur for a program that is scheduled at Raipur Science College.
Meanwhile, the Lok Sabah on Wednesday passed the Constitutional (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Fifth Amendment), Bill 2022 to include the Binjhia community and synonyms for several other tribes in the Scheduled Tribes (ST) list of Chhattisgarh.
The CG Assembly on Dec 3rd unanimously passed the Chhattisgarh Public Service (Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes Reservation) Amendment Bill and Chhattisgarh Educational Institutions (Reservation in admission) Amendment Bill. It is worth noting that the bills passed in the Assembly have not yet been approved by the Governor.
The bills provide 32 per cent quota for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 13 per cent for Scheduled Castes (SC), 27 per cent for Other Backward Classes (OBCs), and 4 per cent for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in public employment and admissions in educational institutions.
