Bilaspur:  Ahead of Diwali and Chhatha Puja celebrations, Indian Railways is running 668 trips of 110 special trains for Diwali and Chhatha Puja 2021. This special arrangement is made for the passengers travelling to Chhattisgarh or their native places to celebrate festivals with their families. This arrangement will remain in the special train from November 2 to November 7. Besides special trains & augmentation of coaches in regular trains, crowd management at major stations is prioritized to ensure berth availability during this festive rush.

Special Trains have been planned to connect major destinations across the country on railway sectors. Crowd controlling measures by forming queues at the terminus stations with the supervision of RPF staff for orderly entry of passengers in unreserved coaches is being ensured. Additional RPF personnel have been deployed in major stations to ensure the security of passengers. Officers are deployed on Emergency Duty at major stations to ensure the smooth running of trains. Staff is deployed in various sections to attend to any disruption of train service on priority.

Some of the trains which will operate in Chhattisgarh are:

  • Durg-Patna Chhath Special: One sleeper and one AC-3 additional coach has been arranged.Under this, this coach will be available in Durg to Patna and Patna to Durg trains from 2nd to 6th November from 3rd to 7th November.
  • Patna-Durg Chhath Special: One slipper and one AC 3 additional coaches have been arranged. In this, additional coaches will be available from Durg on 7th November and from Patna on 8th November.
  • Yesvantpur-Korba- Yesvantpur : Additional coach facility has been provided from Yesvantpur from November 2 to 30 and from Korba from November 4 to December 2.
  • Habibganj-Santragachi-Habibganj Special: Additional coaches have been arranged from Habibganj to Santragachi from 3rd November to 24th November and Santragachi-Habibganj from 4th to 25th November.
