Raipur: Income Tax Department has raided 7 businessmen and former officers in 3 cities of Chhattisgarh. This action is being taken in Raipur, Durg and Korba. The traders who were hit by the raids are associated with businesses like coal, transport, Alloys. The Income Tax Department suspects tax evasion on their part. Different teams of Income Tax officials reached Ravi Singhal’s house in Chaubey Colony, Raipur at 5 AM on Wednesday. 

Meanwhile, officials also reached his office located at Raipura Overbridge. Ravi Singhal is the owner of Raigarh-based Company Sky Alloys. After reaching inside, the officers surrounded the entire house. No one was allowed to go in from inside and come in from outside. Raids were conducted on Pradeep Aggarwal’s house in Wallfort City, the house of Alka Soni in Shankar Nagar’s Om Shree apartment and Amit-Sumit Agarwal’s office at Telibandha. A businessman’s house has also been raided in Panchsheel Nagar of Durg. There is also news of a raid at BN Thakur, a retired officer of Joint Director Level. Their initial details are not yet available. 

According to sources, there is a possibility of tax evasion on the part of these businessmen. After a preliminary investigation, the Income Tax Department has raided them simultaneously. After checking the documents thoroughly, some information can be known. The Income Tax Department has reached the house of Korba’s jewellery businessman Bhagwan Das Agarwal. A team of about 20 officers and employees knocked at Agarwal’s house at 5-5.30 am. Since then the investigation is going on. Bhagwan Das Aggarwal is the operator of jewellery franchise Anopchand-Tilokchand in Korba.
