Chhattisgarh: The Met Department on Monday had issued an alert to several states including Chhattisgarh that would receive incessant heavy to very rains. According to IMD, heavy downpours were recorded in the Dantewada, Bijapur, Sukma and Bastar districts of the state.
The death of 25 cattle is reported from the Gadapal village Dantewada. According to sources, farmers had left open their cattle to graze when the rains commenced and sparked lightning that killed the cattle.
As per the forecast given by IMD, the cyclonic storm’Gulaab’ weakened and moved into North Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Orissa at a speed of 6 kmph in 6 hours from 2:30 pm. Earlier, the department reports winds gusting at the speed of 40 kmph. The storm is likely to weaken in the coming 24 hours sources to the Met Department informed. By the evening the storm is expected to move towards Vidarbha.
On Sunday, several regions of Bastar had been issued a warning against the storm and placed under strict monitoring. The state authorities alerted the State Disaster Management Department and engaged teams to monitor the damage incurred.
