The incessant rains have put life out of gear in the central parts of the country. Visuals of water logging in low lying areas, houses in vicinity of water bodies have emerged with the rarest of them being cars floating in water.

Recording over 2 inches of rainfall on Tuesday, Indores’ low lying were the worst hit as rainwater logged on the roads made its way into the houses. Major areas affected due to heavy rain were the western areas of the city mainly Dwarkapuri, Annapurna, Rajendra Nagar, Vaishali Nagar, Raj Mahal Colony, and others.

The Prajatpat Nagar residents had a strange experience as they saw two cars flowing as the water gushed on the roads. As the news made it to social media, the Indore Municipal corporation team rushed to the spot to rescue those stranded in the car.

In Chhatisgarh, the Sejbahar and Kolhan canals in spate submerged around 25- 30 houses in the capital and Balodbazar respectively. Rescue operations are underway and so far only 25 people have been rescued.

As per IMD, there would be relief from August11-12. Earlier at 5:30 a.m. today the depression weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over CG and MP. It is likely to move west northwestwards and gradually weaken into a low-pressure area during the next 24 hours, the IMD said in a Twitter post on Wednesday morning.
