NEW DELHI: In view of brief rainfall and hailstorm in central India the IMD has a issued yellow watch across Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada over the next few days.
As per the forecast, hailstorms are expected over isolated parts of Chhattisgarh on Monday (April 24) and Vidarbha on Monday and Tuesday (April 24 and 25). The intensity would gradually reduce the forecast added.
Citing intensification of the weather conditions, the alert level will be raised to an orange alert (meaning ‘be prepared’) for Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada on Tuesday and Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Marathwada on Wednesday.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also for the next five days has forecast moderate, scattered rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh.
As per IMDs weather bulletin,
A cyclonic circulation lies over central Madhya Pradesh in lower tropospheric levels.
A trough or wind discontinuity runs from central Madhya Pradesh to south Interior Tamil Nadu at lower levels.
Another trough runs from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim to Chhattisgarh at middle tropospheric levels.
