GAURELA- PENDRA-MARWAHI: During a regular inspection, the Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district administration seized around 450 paddy sacks that were reportedly being transported illegally. The total paddy weighing 180 quintals is said to cost Rs 4.5 lakhs.
Authorities detained two pickup vehicles that were illegally ferrying Paddy from Pendra to Devargaon. As per initial reports, 113 sacks of paddy were seized from the vehicle at the Semra Tirahe. The check post authorities reportedly handed over the paddy to the Gaurela police.
Similarly, acting on a tip-off, the police in another incident seized a vehicle carrying paddy sacks from Dhanauli to Anjani. It also confiscated Paddy at Anajani- which was possessed illegally. The police in its investigation mentioned to have not found any verified documents of the dealers in Paddy.
Illegal movement of paddy in the state has been on the rise. Despite repeated efforts, there seems no respite in illegal selling of paddy.
