Bilaspur- In Nyayadhani, teams from the Revenue and Health departments have began operations against illegal mother and child clinics. Four clinics were closed in Kota during a late-night raid after the authorities searched them and found them appropriate to be sealed. The clinics that have been affected include Deepak K Gupta Clinic at Tenganmara, Chiranjit Vishwas Clinic at Kargi Kala, Vishwas Clinic and Maravi Clinic all situated in Kota.

It is stated that Maravi Clinic is run by Devashankar Maravi a clerk in the government established Community health center Kota. Concerning such actions, collector Avneesh Sharan has declared that such actions will be carried out in the future.

As per the guidance of Kota SDM Yugal Kishore Urvasha, the teams of the Revenue and Health Department had made a raid on the illegal clinics. As for the government health facilities, they visited Maravi Clinic at behind Gurudwara in Kota and Vishwas Clinic in Mahashakti Chowk. Large stocks of the allopathic medicines and injections were found during the inspections carried out by the team. Most of the clinics were observed to have a long line of patients during the raid as indicated in the video clip. Vishwas clinic had prescribed 713 rupees medicines for a Dhanras patient Vishambhar Singh and had charged for it 1,300 rupees. The Tehsildar had to step in so as to reclaim the extra amount that has been charged.

These clinic closures bring out the analysis of increased cases of uncontrolled medical practices in the region. Thus, the authorities’ rapid response amply illustrates their determination to avoid any violations of the legal and ethical requirements governing the provision of healthcare services. The existence of several unapproved clinics not only threatens the proper functioning of the healthcare system but most specifically endangers patients’ lives. Therefore, to ensure that the population of this area receives quality services from medical practicing facilities, the government will continue sealing these structures while searching for other unlawful practices.

According to the recommendations made, the decisive actions that was undertaken by the Revenue and Health Departments should act as a discouragement to other people performing unlawful operations in clinics and other health facilities, thereby enhancing a safer health care to the residents of Kota.
