This will be greatly changing the roster of the Chhattisgarh High Court, as an amended structure will be implemented to simplify the process of hearing cases and enhance the efficiency of the judicial system. The court under the new structure will operate in three division benches (DBs) and 13 single benches in routine hearings.

The bench of the first division in the High Court, which will include Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Ravindra Kumar Agrawal, will take significant cases such as those related to public interest litigations (PILs), habeas corpus, criminal appeals till 2020, criminal contempt, Section 482 applications and cases under Section 419 and 378.

Civil matters, company appeals, tax matters and ultra vires matters up to 2022 will be heard at the second division bench, headed by Justice Sanjay K. Agrawal and Justice Sachin Singh Rajput. The bench shall also act as the commercial appellate bench, which handles business related disputes.

Criminal issues that are not allotted to other benches are to be heard by the third division bench, which will consist of Justice Sanjay Agrawal and Justice N.K. Vyas. It will also be hearing acquittal appeals until 2016 and ultra vires cases until 2022.

Moreover, 13 single benches have been constituted with one special single bench under the head of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha to be able to dispose cases more easily.

It is hoped that the updated list will improve service in the high court by improving the case management, decreasing backlog, and providing better control of the civil and criminal cases.
