New Delhi: As per fresh notification issued by IMD, the deep depression over northwest and adjoining northeast Bay of Bengal moved west-northwestwards during the intervening nights on Friday and Saturday, and lay centred over northwest Bay of Bengal, about 20 km south of Sagar Islands (West Bengal), 60 km east-southeast of Digha (West Bengal) and 120 km east of Balasore (Odisha) as of Saturday.
Meanwhile, the well-marked low-pressure area over southeast Pakistan and neighbourhood has now weakened into a low-pressure area. Under the influence of the above systems MP and CG have been put on alert to recieve very to heavy rainfall over the weekend.
Fairly widespread/widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls, thunderstorms and lightning are expected over Chhattisgarh and East MP on Saturday and Sunday. West Madhya Pradesh alongside Konkan-Goa are expected to recieve rains from 20th-22nd.
Isolated extremely heavy falls may also lash north Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh on 20th, West Madhya Pradesh on 21st.
A red alert has been declared in Bilaspur, Korba, Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa, Mungeli and Mahasamund districts of Chhattisgarh. While Korea, Surajpur, Balrampur, Surguja and Jashpur, Raipur, Balodabazar, Gariaband, Dhamtari, Durg, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Kabirdham, Bemetara, Bastar, Kanker and Kondagaon districts are under orange alert.
