Durg: In the Bhilai Municipal Corporation, health officer Dharmendra Mishra has been issued a show-cause notice by the Additional Director of Urban Bodies across the spectrum of cleanliness and waste management. The notice asks for a response within seven days. While taking a video conferencing review meeting, the Urban Administration Department of Chhattisgarh Additional Director asked Mishra about waste management, and the latter could not provide accurate answers. Subsequently, Mishra has been questioned as to why door-to-door garbage collection and waste processing in SLRM centers are missing, as well as information about backyard waste dumping.
The Additional Director’s office posted a notice that stresses the fact that the concerned municipal review bodies violated the required state regulations. In so far as his actions of neglecting and just turning a blind eye to this issue show that he is not fulfilling his duties in the position of a leader as expected. The letter alleges that there is a need for a clear explanation of why the recommendation for his termination under the Chhattisgarh Civil Services and Chhattisgarh Municipal Corporation rules should not be made. The health officer has received a seven-day notice from the date of the letter to take an action.
On the other hand, Bhojraj Sinha, leader of the opposition party, has been accused of corruption in a sanitation contract with the municipal corporation. In his letter to the Urban Administration Minister, Mr. Sinha alleged that the crores of rupees are being missed by the sanitation contract in the municipal area.
Those public officials of the corporation now never get into the questions about the subject. The public relations officer, Sharad Dubey, reckoned that during a video conference, the health officer had not responded to the inquiry of the extra director regarding the sanitation system; therefore, the officer issued a show cause notice, which was a punishment.
