On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti a grand five day festival of Ram Katha is to be observed in Ram Janaki Temple situated near the Narmada Kund under the Nirvani Akhada. The ceremony is likely to attract masses of religious practitioners and followers in the region.

Major dignitaries including Governor Ramen Deka, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai to this effect among others have been invited and are said to have accepted the ceremony and will be present during it. South Kaushal Peethadheeshwar Rajeev Lochan Das and Dharm Stambh Council Chhattisgarh chairman Dr Saurav Nirvani delivered invitations personally when they had meetings with the Chief Minister at the Raj Bhavan and at the Chief Minister residence.

The religious programme will include nightly Rama Katha as recited by Rajeev Lochan Das, and religious lectures by the famous Chhattisgarh saints. Also, Dr Sandeep Akhil will hold special classes on Ram Rasayan to provide more spiritual understanding to the participants.

The festival will start with a grand Kalash Yatra where women will also participate in a procession all over the city. Devotees will be served prasad meals as part of the programme after the discourse each day.

A large Maha Aarti will be conducted at Narmada Kund on the day of Hanuman Jayanti and this is likely to be the major highlight of the whole programme. It is also a major religious and cultural event with several ministers, public representatives and officials likely to attend.
