Jashpur: Chhattisgarh is recording a rise in broad day light murders. The new incident is reported from Jashpur where a girl was stabbed by an axe on the Tapkara Kunkuri main road this afternoon.

According to sources, witnesses informed the Kunkuri police station following which a team arrived on the spot. Preliminary investigation reveals the unknown assailant who fled after attacking the spot was a boy. A search for the boy has been initiated, a police officials investigating the case said. He further added that the victim based on the documents she carried is identified as an employee of the state health department. However, there is no information on why attack was carried out, he added.

A lookout notice has been initiated for the absconding murder and further details on the attack will be confirmed based on the postmortem reports, sources said.
