Bilaspur: The police in Sarkanda have since arrested four suspects in this criminal activity, including a female and two children who were recorded to have blocked the roads to perform some robberies on individuals passing by. The police have been able to retrieve a number of items from the accused which include a mobile phone, a gold locket and some quantity of cash.

Under the same pain, news found that Manoj Kumar Sahu of Birkona Road in Sarkanda complained to Sarkanda police station. He stated that on the 2nd of June, around 4:30 am, he had gone to his relative’s house at Nariyal Kothi, Dayalband. While returning to his home in Birkona at around 3:45 AM on June 3, he reached Birkona Road in front of the water tank at Ashok Nagar at around 4 AM. It was then that Martin Thakur, who stays in Ashok Nagar along with his friends, attacked Sahu on the road, which was empty at that time. They snatched his mobile phone from him, took a cash amount of Rs 3835 from him and a gold locket that he had worn around his neck.

After the pregnant woman complained, Sarkanda Police filed a report and began looking for the hooligans. During the investigation, they focused on the four suspects and arrested them and during the raid held at Nariyal Kothi, Dayalband. The operation resulted in the arrest of aking called Martin, also referred to as Suraj Singh Thakur, Apsa Khan, as well as two juvenile suspects. The police officers managed to recover all the stolen items from the accused.

The police disclosed that the suspects have been operating especially at night along the deserted areas and in the early morning when people are most vulnerable to attack. These people have since been arrested, and this is regarded as a breakthrough in preventing such criminal incidences within the area.

This probe also revealed that Martin Thakur played a key role in the planning of the operations, carrying out the operation with the assistance of his allies.
