Chhattisgarh: Reopening of schools has begun pan-India. All schools have been instructed to follow strict COVID-19 protocol and address challenges of impending third wave in states.
The Chattisgarh state health authoritieshave reported the detection of COVID-19 in five school children in Mahasamund district.
As per the information documented with the state health authorities Bakma higher secondary school in bagbara development block of the district reported infections. Nearly 340 students study in the school. As per the contact tracing protocol, 10 infected samples have been sent for testing. The collector has also instructed district health department to conduct contact tracing at neighbouring schools and anganwadi centres over the coming week. Additionally, school authorities have been instructed to shut down the school for one week to sanitize the premises.
Sources reveal that a speculation COVID cases surfaced on September 13, following which 60 children were tested and yielded negative. Earlier, The Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) had framed, published, and widely disseminated its Guidelines and Recommendations on ‘School Reopening, Remote Learning, and Curriculum during and after COVID- 19 Pandemic’ to address schooling issues during the pandemic.
