Raipur: A complaint claiming a BJP councillor Manoj Verma has been lodged at Tikarpara police station in Raipur. The offence has been registered under sections 294,323,506B.
The FIR was moved by the family members, claiming he physically assaulted their 18-year-old boy unnesscarily and also threatened his parents. On the contrary, the councillor denies the allegations and calls it a conspiracy against him.
The FIR reveals an incident of October 9th, where a 12 class student Deepak Chakradari a resident of Mathpurina was playing in the RavanBhatta ground, the Councilors Dusshera venue. The complainant accused the leader of allegedly abusing the boy and physically assaulting him after the former retaliated for the derogatory comments the councillor issued.
Under the leadership of City District Congress president Girish Dueby, a delegation along with mayor Ejaz Dhebar, Chairman Pramod Dubey have submitted a memorandum to the SP. Mayor Ejaz Dhebar expressing solidarity with the victim called the action condemnable and demanded a stringent probe of the incident.
