Chhattisgarh: After creating a bitter controversy by allegedly calling allopathy a stupid science, an FIR against noted Guru Baba Ramdev has surfaced.

On a complaint filed by Chairman Dr Rakesh Gupta, the FIR was registered at 9.45 pm on Wednesday at Civil Lines police station . 

 “We have registered a case against Baba Ramdev under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Disaster Management Act invoked by the IMA and Dr Rakesh Gupta, chairman Chhattisgarh Hospital Board,” said Nasar Siddiqui, CSP, civil lines police station in Raipur. The case has been registered after verifying the complaint, the officer added. Additionally, the IMA officers attached two links of videos featuring Baba Ramdev and his recent statements. 

Baba Ramdev is charged for his rude statement issued against allopathy under IPC Section 186 (voluntarily obstructs any public servant in the discharge of his duties), 188 (refusal to obey rules officially put into effect), 270 (malignantly doing act likely to spread the infection dangerous to life), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and the Disaster Management Act, 2005 have been imposed on the Yoga Guru.

The Raipur Police will send a notice to Baba Ramdev on Friday. Following which, the police will initiate a search operation against the accused.
