Gariaband: Acting on a tip-off, the CRPF launched an operation against Naxalites who camped in Patdahara in Nuapada, Orissa.
The operation which began on Friday lasted until late at night. Predicting their defeat the Naxals fled into the Gariaband district of CG. However, they couldn’t manage to bust the forces and were encountered by another batch of Jawans camped in the area. Sources report heavy cross-firing took place between the armed Naxals and the CRPF Jawans.
CRPF DIG Raipur Range Sanjay Kumar Singh led the contingent in the operation near Gariaband.
