Raipur: Congress leaders are grappling with the decisive defeat in the legislative elections, causing anguish among them. In this context, former Amarjeet Bhagat criticized the exchange of statements among Congress leaders, including leader of the opposition Charandas Mahant, regarding the election outcome. Bhagat emphasized that it’s inappropriate to comment on senior leaders, despite the unexpected results that have left everyone feeling depressed.

Reflecting on his own political future, Minister Amarjeet Bhagat stated that he won’t seek a ticket for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Instead, he expressed willingness to consider contesting if the party asks him to. Meanwhile, BJP leader Dharamlal Kaushik empathized with the Congress’ current situation, expressing sympathy towards Kaushik and others. He remarked that the central leadership has done a disservice to leaders like Dharamlal Kaushik, Ajay Chandrakar, Amar Agrawal, and Renuka Singh by mishandling their situations.

Bhagat also raised concerns about the handling of issues related to Hasdev Aranya, stating that during his tenure, their government had imposed a ban on logging in Hasdev, a decision made in alignment with the directives from All India Adivasi Congress. However, he stressed the importance of saving Hasdev and suggested that if directives from the All India Adivasi Congress are received, they should be implemented.

Touching upon the Naxal issue, Bhagat defended former Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma’s stance on seeking peace. He acknowledged that various governments have appealed for peace regarding Naxalism, and his government also attempted dialogue for a peaceful resolution. While advocating for peace, Bhagat underscored the need for consistency between words and actions in dealing with such critical matters.

In conclusion, the aftermath of the legislative elections has triggered introspection and internal discussions within the Congress party, with leaders like Bhagat sharing their perspectives on various issues. The dynamics within the party seem to be under scrutiny, emphasizing the need for unity and strategic decision-making to navigate the challenges ahead.
