Raipur: Following a decisive defeat in the assembly elections, internal discord within the Congress is becoming increasingly apparent. Former legislator Brijbhadra Singh recently levelled serious accusations against Pradesh Prabhari Kumari Selja and former Deputy Chief Minister TS Singhdev. He not only accused them but also demanded the removal of Kumari Selja. Meanwhile, Congress leader Vinay Jaiswal has opened a front against party officials, alleging corruption against Secretary Sachiv Chandra Yadav.

This trend of Congress leaders making public statements against their own colleagues has caused considerable discontent among senior party members. Amidst this turmoil, former minister Amarjeet Bhagat has made a significant statement. Bhagat acknowledged that Congress had the opportunity to form the government in the state, but due to various reasons, they lost the elections. A comprehensive review of the party’s performance in the assembly elections is currently underway.

However, the grievances expressed by Brijbhadra Singh and Vinay Jaiswal are adding another layer of complexity to the situation. Bhagat emphasized the need for party leaders to discuss issues within the party forum, calling for a strengthening of the organization as in the past. He suggested considering changes if necessary.

It is noteworthy that in recent days, there has been a spree of public statements within Congress, with sitting legislators whose tickets were denied making allegations against top leaders. Brijbhadra Singh, representing Ramanujganj, expressed his anger at losing the ticket and directed serious accusations at Pradesh Prabhari Sailja and Deputy Chief Minister Singhdev, even alleging Sailja’s involvement in dubious activities.

Vinay Jaiswal accused Pradesh Congress Committee Secretary Chandra Yadav of accepting money, adding another layer to the ongoing controversy. In addition to Sailja and Singhdev, Jaiswal also leveled serious charges against former Deputy Chief Minister TS Singhdev. The party is grappling with internal conflicts, and the need for introspection and organizational strengthening has become paramount. The recent revelations and accusations highlight the challenges Congress is facing in maintaining internal unity and discipline, especially in the aftermath of electoral setbacks.
