Raipur: With just a few months left for the Lok Sabha elections, political maneuvering is intensifying. Allegations and counter-allegations between BJP and Congress are escalating. Former CM Bhupesh Baghel has made a significant statement, accusing BJP of contacting their legislators via phone, discussing Lok Sabha tickets and ministerial positions.
Baghel further expressed concerns about the 2024 elections, citing events in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra as indicators. He believes BJP is anxious about potential defeat in the upcoming elections, leading to aggressive tactics. Baghel has lost confidence in the BJP, evident in his statement. He expressed apprehension regarding the Mahatari Vandana Yojana’s extended application deadline, stating it may leave women in distress. He advocated for an extension to ensure that women with farms above 60 lakhs, who spent the election season filling forms for the BJP, were not required to submit them. Baghel suggested that the funds should be deposited into their accounts on the first day itself.
Moreover, Baghel targeted BJP over the issue of Naxalism, claiming a lack of government control. He highlighted the increasing incidents of Naxal attacks and other criminal cases. Although Deputy CM Vijay Sharma had proposed dialogue, no progress has been made in talks or in responding to Naxal incidents.
In summary, Baghel’s statements underscore the escalating political tension, the anticipation and concerns about the 2024 elections, and the ongoing challenges between the political parties in Chhattisgarh. The political landscape is becoming increasingly charged as the election season approaches, with both BJP and Congress engaging in strategic moves and counter-moves.
