Ambikapur: Three members of the Pahari Korwa tribe had a close encounter with elephants in the Mainpat-Dharmajaygarh forest area. One of the elephants attacked with its trunk, due to which the girl child in the lap of the woman was thrown away and she also fell down. Meanwhile, the people of Kunkuri Khurd and forest workers reached there in Gajraj vehicle and chased away the elephants by making noise, thus saving the lives of all three.
In view of this, the employees of Mainpat forest range keep monitoring the elephants while roaming with the local youth in Gajraj vehicle. On Saturday night, a woman of the Pahari Korwa tribe was going to her home through the forest with her daughter and two others. People informed them about the elephants roaming on that route and stopped them from going, but they did not listen.
During this time, they encountered elephants. Before they could do anything, an elephant attacked them with its trunk, due to which the woman and the child in her lap were thrown to different places. Meanwhile, people from Kunkuri Khurd and three employees reached the spot in Gajraj vehicle and chased away the elephants by making noise. After this, the woman, her child and others who were covered in mud were admitted to Sitapur Health Center. After treatment here, everyone is fine.
