CHHATTISGARH: An elephant crushed a woman to death in the early hours of Saturday in Gariaband, Chhattisgarh. The incident took place in Fingeshwar forest range.

It is being told that the elephant crossed the Pari river from Dhamtari and reached Rajim on Wednesday morning and was wandering in the residential areas since then. Moreover, it has been revealed that the forest department was unware about the movement of the wild tusker.

The deceased identified as Khorbaharin Sonkar (50), a resident of village Borid, as per locals had come out of the house for defecation at around 5 am on Saturday morning. It is being told that she was attacked by an elephant just some distance away from the house.
