Raipur: The Municipal Health Department Advisory Committee convened at the Mahatma Gandhi Sadan on Tuesday to chart out effective strategies for warding off mosquito-borne diseases.
Discussions were done to culminate the spread in 70 wards of all 10 zones of the Raipur Municipal Corporation area. Officials have been instructed to hold door-to-door campaigning for educating citizens about dengue malaria prevalent in the Monsoon season.
Raipur Mayor Eijaz Dhebar instructed the zonal health officers to address stagnant water in apartments and residences. Instructions have also been given to spray Temiphas to kill the larvae germinating in stagnant water and areas prone to breeding.
As per the statistics issued by the state health dept, Dengue cases in Raipur are under control. Only one positive case of dengue has been reported from Changorabhatha in the Raipur City Municipal Corporation area. Overall 28 cases of Dengue have been reported in the capital city of Raipur so far. Three out of them have been actively presenting the symptoms while the rest are stable, said District Malaria Dept officer Kumar Singh.
