Raipur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has executed another great action in Chhattisgarh. The task force has apprehended Roshan Chandrakar, the current treasurer of Chhattisgarh State Rice Millers Association from Delhi. Roshan Chandrakar is co-accused with Manoj Soni, the MD of Markfed, in the wheat custom milling scam. Manoj Soni, who was arrested earlier by the ED, was detained a few days ago. As per the agency sources, it is anticipated that the scope of probing the custom mill case will widen drastically.
Milling scams are united under the common factor of involving illegality in the rice milling process, which is achieved by technical manipulation of this process where dishonesty is linked to financial irregularities and fraud. Chaundrakar and Soni were both said to have been instrumental in these unfortunate occurrences, which caused a huge reduction in their business profits. This case calls to attention the prevalent problems of deteriorating integrity and unethical approaches behind these top-notch arrests.
Roshan Chandrakar’s detention proves a significant case, pointing to the fact that the ED is no longer peaceful in executing its activities to slacken corruption and financial defalcations in the state. The agency is confidently and carefully delving into the case to discover the true depths of the scam and all those who have conspired to commit it. The arrest of Chandrakar after Soni highlights that the ED, in its investigation, has already achieved a series of successes.
This milling fraud has touched the lives of the masses in various ways. It has not only damaged the economy but also caused serious setbacks in terms of governance and public trust. Although the detaining of high-calibre figures, Chadrakar and Soni might have a very serious impact on the politics of Chhattisgarh. The ED’s actions show that the broad strategy of addressing and solving corruption entails assuring rationality at the police level in the hierarchy.
