Korea: An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 was reported from parts of Northern Chhattisgarh on Monday morning, officials said. Adding that no casualties or property damage was reported so far.
The earthquake in the Korea district located 300 km from the capital Raipur took place at around 8:10 am in the morning meteorologist Akshaya Mohan Bhatt in Ambikapur said. Reports have indicated the earthquake that began in and around Baikunthpur extended into parts of Madhya Pradesh. As per reports, the epicentre was 16 km from Baikunthpur in a west-north direction.
Officials of the meteorological department are stay put to monitor the seismic activity amidts heavy torrential rains.
Earlier, heavy rains lashed parts of Raipur and uprooted several trees and washed away vehicles.
