Raipur, Chhattisgarh: A doctor has been duped of 92 lakh 45 thousand rupees by a couple in Chattisgarh’s Raipur. The accused husband and wife cheated Mekahara’s doctor on the pretext of giving double the money by investing the amount in the stock market. When the doctor asked for his money from the accused couple, they retracted and stopped picking up his phone. The victim doctor has complained about the accused to the Maudahapara police.
The complainant Dr. Jharna Sahu told the police, that he is posted in Mekahara and he was familiar with Dr. Sunita Nimbalkar, posted in Mekahara’s Pharma Department. In the year 2018 through Dr. Sunita, Rakesh Bhabhumal Jain, and his wife Sheetal Jain met Dr. Jharna Sahu at Om Complex Fafadih. The couple introduced themselves as chartered accountants.
Dr. Sunita Nimbalkar told the victim that she invests money in the stock market at the behest of the Jain couple and gets profits. When Dr. Jharna asked him about the stock market, the Jain couple made a bluff and took 35 lakh 50 thousand rupees from him in installments in the pretext of giving double the money.
A few days later, accused Rakesh Jain gave Rs 5 lakh to Dr. Jharna through Dr. Sunita. After a few days, the accused gave the promise of a good scheme and persuaded him to take a loan of Rs 95 lakh 81 thousand 728 from different banks. A total of 74 lakh 13 thousand 85 rupees came into the doctor’s account after deducting the loan process fee.
The accused transferred this money in installments from the doctor’s account. When Dr. Jharna went to Mumbai for his further studies, the accused stopped paying and also stopped picking up the phone. After coming back to Raipur, Dr. Jharna narrated the incident to Dr. Sunita. It was then that she told about the accused absconding with his money. Disturbed by these antics of the accused, Dr. Jharna has complained to the police. Police have started an investigation into the matter.
