BHILAI: A diarrhoea outbreak is reported in Chhattisgarh’s Bhilai. As many as 16 have been been hospitalized in Ward 51 of Khursipar, Bhilai city in the past two days.
In view of the rising number of infection, a team of the District Health Department is conducting door-to-door survey. Health department workers, Anganwadi workers, helpers are distributing ORS and zinc tablets under the prevention campaign. District Medical and Health Officer Dr. SK Meshram and Epidemiologist Ritika Sonwani visited Khursipar to take stock of the situation.
It is worth noting that as many as 500 have been infected earlier and 2 died last month. The health department of Bhilai Municipal Corporation has launched a probe into the cause based on the complaint filed that reported dirty water supply across the ward in the past days.
