Raipur: Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao reached the RSS office located in Pandari, Raipur. During this he met the Sangh official. Deputy CM Sao discussed with the journalists. He said that BJP has won in Chhattisgarh. “The public has expectations, our government will work to fulfill the public’s expectations. I am ideologically associated with the Sangh since childhood, that is why I have come to meet”, said the deputy chief minister.
Regarding the continuously increasing Naxalite incidents, the Deputy Chief Minister said that BSF soldier Akhilesh Rai was martyred in Kanker yesterday. Central forces are continuously working bravely in collaboration with the Chhattisgarh government. The government is committed to eradicating Naxalism. Our government will work with full force to ensure peace in Chhattisgarh. Target killing of our workers has been done, incidents have happened continuously but our government is completely serious, we will work on this with caution.
Chhattisgarh, nestled in central India, faces a persistent challenge – the presence and activity of Naxalites, the armed wing of the Communist Party of India (Maoist). These incidents, characterized by guerrilla warfare, ambushes, and IED blasts, have cast a long shadow over the state for decades.
The roots of the Naxalite movement in Chhattisgarh lie in socio-economic grievances. Marginalization of tribal communities, displacement due to resource extraction projects, and lack of development opportunities fueled a simmering discontent that found expression in Maoist ideology.
Naxalite activities in Chhattisgarh range from targeting security forces through ambushes and landmine blasts to intimidating civilians, disrupting infrastructure projects, and extorting protection money. The dense forests and hilly terrain provide them strategic cover, making counter-insurgency operations challenging.
