Raipur: After a meeting with Manohar Lal Khattar, the Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao revealed elaborate details of the meeting that he had on his way back from Delhi. According to Sao, the majority of the talks centred on numerous state initiatives, where DPR for 20,000 PMAY houses was also highlighted. Also, they made decisions concerning their most important activities, such as sanitation and the provision of drinking water. The minister patiently listened to their complaints and asked them to report any action by officials.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao also noted the meeting he had with the Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He also raised a concern about the poor rail infrastructure in Chhattisgarh for over more than six decades of the country’s independence. Sao stressed that although the potential and need exist, the state’s rail transport has not grown as it should. Yusself pledged that several are in the offing and the realization of rail access in Chhattisgarh shall soon begin.
Speaking about the problem in question, namely, the cancellation of trains in the state, Sao described the fact that Chhattisgarh is comparatively worse off in terms of railways with other regions of the country. In this regard, he agreed with the fact that although many projects might have been developed and approved, they have led to interferences. But on completion of most of these development projects, the public will be relieved with enhanced service and facility delivery.
Regarding the issue of various anomalies in grain procurement centres, Deputy Chief Minister Mr Arun Sao said that identification is being carried out. He reaffirmed that if supplies beyond the permissible here-accomplished deficit will be established, administration measures will be taken. To the comments made by PCC Chief Deepak Baij on the aesthetic improvement of the DPR MLA building in Dantewada, Sao retaliated by asking Baij for his dissections over the last five years. He dared Baij to come out and tell the public what the state of affairs was during his government’s time.
Speaking of key problems in Chhattisgarh, the meetings and, in particular, statements of Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao show the government’s definite interest in the region.
