Dharsinwa: A major tragedy has occurred in Raipur’s Dharsinwa where, on the Barbanda railway track, the headless dead body of a BJP worker was found, leading to tension. Accordingly, the local police reached the spot, reported a case, conducted the post-mortem of the dead person, and handed over the body to their kin. Besides, an unidentified handwritten note which seemed to point to suicide was also recovered from the person of the deceased. The crime falls under the Vidhan Sabha police station section.
The deceased, whose name was given as Santosh Patel, had been named as being involved in an earlier event on 14th August. On the said day, Patel was attacked by a group of individuals together with his son Sameer Patel and other friends and relatives. Sameer Patel had registered a report in letter form with the Vidhan Sabha police station on August 17th after depicting that while Sameer and his friend, Roshan Chandrakar, were talking in front of their house after eating samosas, two men of the area, Jagan, and Arjun verbally assaulted and attacked them.
While attempting to intervene to save the boy, Santosh Patel and his grandmother, Gangotri Patel, and members of the family were also assaulted, and they suffered grievous injuries. The police acted accordingly in response to the complaint against the accused.
However, there are issues arising from the depressed notes left by Santosh Patel that may make many people believe that he was unhappy with the police work done on this case. The officer in charge of the Vidhan Sabha police station, Mukesh Sharma, said they did find a suicide note in Patel’s pocket and said they had taken the necessary legal action in the beating that happened on the 14th of August.
The incident was brought to the notice of BJP Assembly Mandal President Bharat Soni, and he has also condemned the death of Santosh Patel through suicide. He has directly gone to the state’s Home Minister to demand answers.
