Raipur: Massive ruckus was witnessed on the second day of the Budget session of the Legislative assembly. CM Baghel taking a jibe at the opposition said the BJP has always tried to escape and forego its responsibilities and blamed others for the loss.  Opposition leader Dharmlal Kaushik raised the issue of regularization of irregular, contractual, daily wage workers during the question hour.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Baghel highlighted the schemes introduced by the state govt for the betterment of women. He spoke about the Noni Sashaktikaran Yojana, under which Rs 20,000 would be given to the first two daughters of the family. He also underscored the efforts taken by his cabinet to procure 97.97 LMT of paddy during the Kharif Season 2021-22.

He further slammed the opposition on the Chit fund scam that flourished during the latter’s rule. He underlined that the govt had seized 16 chit fund companies involved in scams and re-imbursed the loss faced by the citizens.

The assembly today also saw the release of its supplementary budget of Rs 4,92,35,72, 398 crores. Earlier during the day, a verbal spat occurred between parties. After the question hour, former minister and opposition leader Brijhmohan Agarwal claimed that members of Congress argued on personal matters instead of political discussions.

The Budget session commenced on March 7th and would run until 25th March holding 13 sessions. CM Baghel who also heads the finance ministry would present the Budget on 9th March. A rise of 5% in comparison to the previous year is expected. Special attention is being given to growing farmers in all prospects and youth employment.
