Dantewada: After three Naxals surrendered to the Dantewada Police on Tuesday, the Dantewada Department of Police launched the Lone Varratu 2.0 operation on Wednesday. SP Dantewada, Dr Abhishek Pallava announced the commencement of the second phase of the pilot campaign.
Under the campaign, all Naxalites surrendered so far are eligible for all government registrations. They are being provided with an Aadhaar card, ration card, and voter ID. So far, the Dantewada police department has successfully documented 255 Naxalites. Additionally, documents for their bank accounts have also been submitted.
The Department of Police reports that 50 Naxalites amongst the 375 surrendered have been appointed in the DRG to aid Lone Varratu 2.0.

The Pilot campaign was initiated by Dantewada Police Station a year ago. The police released a list of Naxalites to the respective gram panchayats. So far 375 Naxals surrendered under the campaign.
