Custom Milling Issue in Chhattisgarh Assembly; the Central Government Walks out

Raipur: On the 3rd day of the winter session, the leaders of the BJP party left the Chhattisgarh Assembly angrily over an argument regarding the custom milling issue.

It all started during the Question Hour, when Rajnish Kumar Singh, a BJP member, interrogated the Food and Civil Supplies Minister AmarjeetBhagat on the status of remaining paddy from the previous Fiscal Year across the districts of the state, which has yet not been milled.

“For FY 2019-’20 in primary societies, no balance exists but has been kept in storage centers across the state. Around 4.15 lakh tons of paddy remains, out of which 80,000 tons more have been lifted”, snapped Bhagat, adding – “As the process is underway, the final status will be available on December 31.”

The Food and Civil Supplies Minister also blamed the longer monsoon of the previous FY, adding about the pandemic, and ended up blaming the delay in the Centre’s sanction for the milling.

BJP leader Dharamlal Kaushik on this opined formation of a new constitution consisting of members from both the ruling party and opposition party, in view of a proper investigation on the matter.

The discussions soon turned into arguments, which created chaos; and soon after that, the BJP members walked out angrily.
