Bastar: Under the Ha Ghar Tiranga Campaign, the CRPF Jawans in CG have distributed the national flag in the Maoist-hit Bastar region concluding the drive that began earlier this week.

CRPF officials said they have also covered those villages where the national flag had never been hoisted since Independence due to various reasons including the Maoist threat.

“As many as one lakh national flags have been distributed by CRPF personnel in interior villages of Dantewada, Bijapur, Bastar and Sukma districts in the last one week,” Inspector General (CRPF), Chhattisgarh sector, Saket Kumar Singh told in a media interaction on Saturday.

The CRPF stationed in the Maoist-dominated regions of CG aims to connect tribals of remote villages to commemorate the 75th year of Independence. This move by the security forces has also helped them better their relationship with the tribals. The tribals as per sources were educated about the importance of Independence day.
