Chhattisgarh: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Head Constable was injured in an IED blast in the Basaguda area of  Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district. Reportedly, the Naxals planted a bomb in the area that injured the CRPF Constable, informed IG Bastar P Sundar Raj.

The incident occurred around 11:30 am on Thursday in the Awapalli-Basaguda route under Basaguda police station limits, where a team of CRPFs from the 168th battalion was on a road security and area domination operation.

The injured CRPF constable identified as Shilchand Minj is speculated to have inadvertently stepped on the pressure IED connection near the Timmapur Village triggering the blast.

Shilchand has been shifted to a local field hospital and is being treated for injuries and is out of danger reported a senior official. The CRPF team has initiated a search operation in the area of the incident to trace the other IED’s planted.
