Raipur: Despite all these measures, cattle smuggling is still rife in the region, and this has been attested by the recent case reported at Simga police station. Around midnight last night, cow vigilantes chased a truck loaded with cattle for 2.5 kilometers and eventually stopped it. In the operation, the truck driver and two helpers were arrested.
The smugglers involved in cattle smuggling have not ceased to look for new tricks that would enable them to avoid detection by police and other anti-stock theft formations. In this case, the truck’s illicit cargo was concealed by tarpaulin and sacks. These smugglers preferred the village-connected routes rather than traveling through the main highways to take the cattle from Balodabazar to Simga. However, their plan did not work as the cow vigilantes got intelligence input and started chasing the truck. Despite the fact that the suspects did not stop the car, the guys chased them incessantly and eventually were able to force them to stop and then surrender the automobile to the police.
During the checkpoint, the officer noticed one of the trucks overloaded with 32 cattle confined in the most inhumane. The Simga police have lodged a report on the charges of cow smuggling and started a probe into it. The arrested people are the truck driver, Sonu Pal, and two helpers, Irshad Ansari and Anil Reddy.
This case is a clear example of the continuation of this phenomenon of cow smuggling in the area. As much as police force and study groups try their best to prevent smuggling, the smugglers don’t relent but use other paths to get their way through. Immigrants are encouraged to act more proactively and increase sampling frequency in the countryside and other relatively unpopulated regions to suppress this activity.
However, the rescued cattle are being treated, and a truck has been impounded as part of investigations. Once again this case puts on spotlight the situation regarding the detection of cow smuggling and protection of animal rights in the region.
