Chhattisgarh: NMDC Chairman cum Managing Director, N. Baijendra kumar, on Monday, made an appeal to his employees to focus on compensating for the loss due to lockdown in the coming months without neglecting health and the guidelines set by the organisation & the Government.
In his appeal, he pointed out that the current scenario is extremely uncertain and economy has taken a major hit due to the unavoidable lockdown. As Chhattisgarh has maximum districts (81%) in green zone in comparison to other states of India with no active cases in the near the vicinity of organisation, he urged his employees to make use of the situation and sincerely dedicate to overcome the downturn while following the national directives of Covid19 Management.
He also mentioned about the problems that have risen due to covid19 lockdown and stated for the employees to work for the betterment of the country as production of Iron ore is an essential commodity, “IMF has reduced India’s GDP growth forecast from 5.8% to 1.9% for FY2021 due to complete lockdown apart from essential services, the production of Iron ore, the raw material for steel industry also comes under the list of essential activities and therefore NMDC will have to continue the operations in the service of the nation”
He motivated his employees in this letter by thanking them for their relentless efforts and stepping up for the country in this crucial times. He also prompted them to be positive and have courage. “I believe tough times don’t last long; It is the will and courage of organisation and their people that help overcome tough times” he stated in his appeal.
After complete lockdown of 21 days ,the government had earlier announced an extended lockdown till 3rd may with partial relaxation for non-containment zones from April 20 onwards in lieu of economic crisis that may claw the world post corona virus.
