Raipur: Chhattisgarh records more than 3000 cases on daily report. On Thursday, as many as 3809 cases were recorded in the state. The bulletin also reported 17 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The silver lining in the bulletin is the recovery cases. On Thursday, Chhattisgarh registered 2019 recovered cases in a single day.

The state’s total caseload reached to over 77,000 cases along with 628 total deaths, Chhattisgarh’s Covid-19 bulletin said on Thursday night.

Out of the total infections, 32,630 people have recovered after testing positive while 36,036 infections still persist.

Chhattisgarh’s recovery rate continues o decline and reached to 41% and its case fatalities rate stands at 0.08%.

The new 3809 corona positive patients have been identified today, among them 1109 from Raipur district, 329 from Raigad, 322 from Durg, 247 from Bilaspur, 225 from Bastar, 166 from Dhamtari, 145 from Balodabazar, 112 from Balod, Janjgir-Champa 100 from Korba, 82 from Gariaband, 80 from Gariaband, 76 each from Dantewada and Narayanpur, 74 each from Korea and Sukma, 72 from Mahasamund, 71 from Bemetra, 65 from Mungeli, 58 from Rajnandgaon, 51 from Surguja, 47 from Kabirdham and Kanker, 45 from Surajpur, 44 from Kondagaon, 27 from Balrampur, 23 from Bijapur, 21 from Jashpur, 20 from Gourela-Pendra-Marwahi, 01 from other state.

Amid the rising cases, a sero survey was launched on Thursday in Raipur, Durg and Rajnandgaon districts to determine the status of herd immunity against the coronavirus infection, an official statement said.

The survey, being conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the state health department, involves testing of blood serum of people to check for the prevalence of antibodies against the infection, it said.

On Friday, samples will be collected in Balodabazar- Bhatapara, Mungeli, Bilaspur and Janjgri-Champa as part of the sero survey.

Chhattisgarh’s COVID-19 figures are as follows: Positive cases 77,775, new cases 3,809, deaths 628, recovered 41,111, active cases 36,036, people tested so far 8,72,584.
