Chhattisgarh: With average daily count reaches to 25 in the last week, Chhattisgarh’s status as a Covid-19 green zone is in jeopardy, due to a spurt in cases caused by returning workers.
On Monday, a total of 40 people were found coronavirus positive in Chhattisgarh, with this the number of active cases reached to 220. The total number of coronavirus cases rises to 292 in the state. On a brighter side, 5 patients were recovered today bringing the total number of cured people to 72.
Over 80 per cent of the state’s overall positive cases are migrant workers who have returned, mainly from red zones in other states. Of the active cases, 150 are migrant workers from 17 largely rural districts, Official said.
For confirmation of these 31 cases, State Heath Department took to twitter to inform “Today, a total of 40 new Corona positive patients have been identified. 30 from Mungeli district, 03 from Kanker, 02 from Dhamtari, Raipur, Bilaspur, Balrampur, 1-1 from Korea and Rajnandgaon, 4 from AIIMS Raipur and Ambikapur today. 1 patient was discharged from medical college. The total number of active patients is 220.”
Earlier, 40 patients were found positive on Friday, 44 on Saturday. On Sunday, 36 new patients were identified. Chhattisgarh’s graph is exponentially increasing day by day which clouded alarming tension over the state.
Meanwhile, Coronavirus cases in India saw the biggest spike for the third consecutive day on Sunday with 6,767 new infections reported in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 1,31,868, while the death toll due to the disease rose to 3,867 after 147 more fatalities, according to the Union Health Ministry.
