Raipur- In the education sector of the Raipur division, a scandal involving teachers and a controversial amendment scheme has come to light. Allegations suggest that the amendment process was manipulated, and positions were sold for hefty sums, resulting in a conspiracy to compromise the quality of education. In the Gariaband district, which ranks low in education quality ratings, vacant teaching positions are expected to be filled after the promotion process in May. However, over 250 promoted teachers must join their assigned schools, raising suspicions.

Some remote and tribal study schools had only a handful of teachers, while others had more teachers than required due to convenience. Shockingly, more than 80 teachers managed to reach their preferred locations through the amendment order without actually joining their designated schools. The amendment process reportedly involved code words and substantial monetary transactions, leading to concerns about corruption and malpractices.

The matter is under investigation by Raipur’s Revenue Commissioner, and top officials have confirmed the ongoing probe. The scandal has prompted concerns about the credibility of the education system and emphasized the importance of implementing measures to guarantee transparency and responsibility in the selection and relocation of teachers. As the investigation progresses, the influence of this controversy on the education field continues to worry the district and its students.
