Chhattisgarh: Angered by the statement issued by the Union minister Prahlad Patel, on paddy procurement strategy of the Bagehl govt, members of the Congress party have decided to burn an effigy of the leader in the state.
Slamming the union minister for his remarks, State General Secretary of Congress Chandrashekar Shukla said that the state was working for the benefit of the labours and farmers. He asked Patel to go through the Chhattisgarh model before making any statements.
The statement by the Union Minister for Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Jal Shakti of India came during his address in Khairagrh on Wednesday as a response to a press official’s question on Paddy procurement program of the state.
With only four days left for the Khairagarh, the district has been witnessing camapaigning in full strength by the Congress, BJP and JCC (J). Bagel on his third day of the visit, addressed a public gathering at village Saloni. Following this he addressed a general meeting at Bijaldehi at 3.05 pm, Ataria at 4.05 pm and then in village Borai at 5.05 pm. Along with him, cabinet minister Ravindra Choubey and other leaders were also involved in the campaign.
